You still need the git protocol, the fetcher can't determine what to
do with the SRCREV.

Try:

SRC_URI = 
"git://${COREBASE}/kernel-3.14.29;protocol=file;bareclone=1;branch=${KBRANCH},${KMETA};name=machine,meta"
