I'm not personally either developing or using meta-java (I've succeeded
for quite a few years to avoid bringing java to any customers embedded
device).

You'd likely get more attention by emailing:
openembedded-devel at lists.openembedded.org
as that's list is what the README in meta-java directs you to.
