YP Advisory Board meeting, 5 May 2017

ACTION ITEM (jefro): ** no more 6pm meetings on friday for UK **
This meeting did not provide a quorum for a full vote. We discussed the fact that meetings rarely have more than about 1/3 of member organizations present.
ACTION ITEM (all): change quorum rule at the next meeting
RULE CLARIFICATION: have discussions at meeting, vote by email but encourage no further discussion
RULE CLARIFICATION: in lieu of a quorum, we can have partial votes at meetings and community mgr
will follow up with members not present

Membership
Announce Renesas Hisao Munakata on LF Board

Announce New Members and Changed members
Congratulations on new member Comcast and upcoming member changes TBA.
Review LF's progress on membership
LF is hiring someone to handle project membership. Details TBD.
Details about new bronze level, YP Participant & YP Compatible
Long discussion about Bronze and other membership issues and the new YP Compatible validation script.
Agreement to promote YP Compatible as part of new website revision.
Final discussion of Silver level: no dues change
Verified maximum 3000 employees, dues $10k/year
Also, Silver is minimum level for associations, consortiums, etc.
Final discussion on Bronze:
Recognition for a donation as an "associate membership"
No vote or Advisory Board position
Provides a Bronze badge and eligibility for YP Compatible status, modulo validation
Only for orgs fewer than 300 actual employees, donation >= $1000
Final discussion on YP Participant:
Not a membership level of any kind, badge only recognition for project participation
Maximum of 60 employees total, enforced
Community manager able to validate requests that meet all requirements w/o a vote
Gold and Platinum levels unchanged.
All current members are grandfathered in for 2017, reconsidered in 2018
With all membership levels, Advisory Board has ability to consider & vote exceptions
Final discussion on badges:
2 types of badges: membership/participant, and YP Compatible
Both badge types will reflect membership levels using color
Tracey to work on badges, project to pay for design
Discuss Maintainership status (Ross)
Members need to be sharing maintainership in oe-core
Jefro has contacted all members individually
had some progress, 9 members now participating owning parts of oe-core
Ross will send a "health check" to the AB on a periodic basis, will highlight members who have not responded

Documentation
Docs are one of more important aspects of project
Several changes needed going forward - esdk/devtool, CROPS, revisions for website, Quick Start Guide
All beyond the current production rate (10k/mo)
Proposal is to double rate for at least 6 months and then reevalute at next release
Approved, subject to available funds (strong expectation)

Review Dev Day feedback and Post Mortem
All feedback reiterated value of YP
Feedback 100% positive, partly because of amazing facility & generosity from Mentor
Very high quality of training
Review tie to LF programs/ marketing, PR, etc
Requested to connect more tightly to LF marketing calendar, align messages to their events & pr
took a while but responded positively
Article plan: 11 myths plus article calendar
Article already written for Electronic Design (by Tracey)
New article calendar based on talks from elc
ACTION ITEM (all): send topics for articles, publications
Review website design progress to date
Huge amount of time so far resdesigning
Work done so far by intel - donated access to design resources & agency money
Current site plagued with trouble with updates & maintenance, focus
Working to focus conte on engineers & automated updates
Also trying to find ways to promote wiki info to website automatically
Steer point people toward issues they care about
Provide services for consultants
Will provide project metrics in community pages using Bitergia dashboard
ACTION ITEM: all providers, please provide list of supported hardware configs & relevant BSPs
Use Wind River's list of supported boards as a model
This is to promote active searches
RP, David Cobbley, and Jefro offered much appreciation for Tracey's dedication
DevDay & ELCE
A group of engineers is planning an educational track at ELCE
may disrupt DevDay with similar content
Track is still in planning stages, Jefro to report back & start DevDay planning as it evolves
Also planning a standard booth & sponsorship, AB meeting
