[meta-freescale] Question regarding linux kernel recipes for mx28 and mx5

Dear All,
We are currently using linux-imx (yes, the old one) for our platforms based on imx53qsb and imx28evk.
Now, i would like to transfer our projects to a newer kernel, but, if I understood correct the linux-imx is no more available in meta-fsl-arm.

What I don't know is: at the end which are the differences between linux-imx and linux-fslc?
Are my platform well supported in linux-fslc?
In our projects we use also qt (4.6 for mx28 and 5.4 for mx53).
Are the graphics driver for imx5 included in linux-fslc? And audio/video playback support?

Can you help me from your experience to understand if I'm making a good step or I'm running into big troubles?

Thank you in advance
My best regards
Simone
