It worked fine in my testing of 3.18-rc1 on both SABRE Lite
and Nitrogen6x.

Are both of your machines TO 1.0? If so, the problem may be
similar to what you've seen on 3.10.17.

Fabio, have you tested HDMI on older silicon in recent
main-line kernels?
