Booted for me as well.
I built core-image-sato.  But I only see the command prompt but not the regular sato desktop with all the desktop icons.
root at crystalforest-stargo:~# uname -a
Linux crystalforest-stargo 3.4.9-rt17-yocto-preempt-rt #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Sep 4 11:18:25 PDT 2012 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Is this expected?
