So what you are saying is I need to update busybox to be able to remove
syslog from it?

Also I noticed 2 syslogd:
/sbin/syslogd
/usr/lib/opkg/alternatives/syslogd

/sbin/syslogd is a link to busybox.

What is /usr/lib/opkg/alternatives/syslogd ?
