After removing rpi-mkimage we don't have the tool mkknlimg and task
do_bundle_initramfs fails with the error:

Removing this append fixes this behaviour.
I have tested that with kernel 4.4.13.
Unfortunately I don't know how this behaves with older kernels (3.18 and
4.1)
