[yocto] yocto manifest 10 character git hash

I noticed that the image manifest file generated by Yocto (containing the package & version numbers)
includes only the first 10 characters of the git-hash (in case of a GIT repo).

Is this sufficient?
Is there a way in which I can tune it to gather all 40 characters?
