As mentioned here, if you include "oracle-jse-jre" in the image, things
should work as expected (IMAGE_INSTALL_append = " oracle-jse-jre")

root at qemux86:~# ls -la /usr/bin/java
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root            31 Jan 28 10:11 /usr/bin/java
-> /usr/share/jre1.7.0_67/bin/java

root at qemux86:~# java -version
java version "1.7.0_67"
