Rather than removing or renaming 
/home/platform/Workspace/somename/poky/build/tmp/cache/default-
eglibc/sonic/i686, you should remove/rename the cache directory above it i.e. 
/home/platform/Workspace/somename/poky/build/tmp/cache/ .
