[yocto-builds] User/group ownership of files reset to root in ext4 image

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to set up my Jethro based Distro in such way that a daemon gets it own user and group to run as.

The user and group are both created properly.
I also have the files and directories chowned in the same manner useradd-example does.
The rootfs however always contains root:root owned files/dirs. Looking into the RPM packages however, ownership is well as expected.

Note that I manually added useradd-example to my image with the same results.

Is there a reason you can think of that causes this? A known bug? Any details with how pseudo is used?
If this is documented somewhere I'd really appreciate a link.
