YP is organized under the Linux Foundation, which is a nonprofit 501(c)(6) rather than (3). It would be great if you could check with the charitable side.

Newbie question:  Is the Yocto Project a 501(c)(3) or some other kind of tax exempt org?  If so, I can appeal to our charitable giving org.
