I started one of these at one point, I'll dig it out. I believe there is a section on defining terms in the Poky manual.

Subject: [yocto-ab] Need a glossary
We have a number of terms we throw around. I have already mentioned the
need for clarity between Poky and openembedded-core. I think we have a
firmer grasp of Yocto vs Openembedded but we need to set that down and
firm it up. A new set I now find is ADT vs Poky SDK.
I can't find a Glossary on the Yocto site but I thought there was one
before. At any rate, that is what we need. We need clear definitions
of these terms in one place. (The definition should not have to start
with a history lesson as Ed so rightly pointed out.)
I suggest list discussion and then captured in the static web, not the
wiki. Getting the message right on this is part technical and part
advocacy. I suggest we start here on this list but am open to whatever
moves us toward a clear definition.
Bill
