Is there a reason you are degrading the version of openssl?  Master is
using 1.0.2d, which has numerous Security related issues addressed with
openssl core.

You talk about qat_mem here, but do the work in a second patch, why not

We typically do not introduce new features or recipes in stable
branches, so this will be targeted to Master once the open issues are
