[meta-freescale] Switching to Qt v5.10 from official meta-fsl-bsp-release?

Hi all,

I'm fairly new to imx / freescale embedded devices.

I'm currently working on custom BSP based on IMX8 Quad board.

Currently using the officiel meta-fsl-bsp-release / morty-4.9.51-8mq_ga

But this version is stuck with an older version of Qt5 (5.8 i think).

And we need to make tests with Qt5.10.

So I changed the layers in the "sources" directory by replacing meta-qt5 (5.10) from git://code.qt.io/yocto/meta-qt5.git.

So the image used for our tests is fsl-image-qt5-validation-imx.

But as expected, this image performs many patches on Qt5 that obviously does not match with Qt 5.10.

It sucks.

Do you think the best way is to use the "simple" fsl-image-validation (without Qt5) and adds manually all the Qt5 stuff in my local.conf for example ?

Any idea how Qt5 is setup for imx products ?

Thanks for your feedback.

Karim

PS: when will be the imx8 layers available in community nxp ?
