I ended cherry-picking those to our tree.

While doing so, I noticed Toradex did a very good job in backporting
some improvements from newer kernels as well as improving several
aspects of M4 usage. Would you be willing to prepare a pull request
with things you consider which might benefit the i.MX ecosystem?
