What about instead of complain send the patch to fix? Lauren sent a
tentative patch which got comments from Carlos. If you are in a hurry
use her patch as base and fix the concerns Carlos expressed and send
the new patch.

Removing it won't fix the problem but hide it so please step up and
send a patch ;-)
