I don't think this is something advisable to do. This is something
that I don't see as generic but a Freescale-internal specific
requirement. I understand why this is desired internally but we need
to bear in mind that the public bits are intended to be used by
regular users and likely taken as the right way of doing things.
Reusing the rootfs may or not work depending on the technical details,
legal details (licensing, for example) so it is not something we can
say it would work for vast majority of users.
