This commit needs to be splitted so we can review each one individually.

The mutex issue should be workarounded passing
ax_cv_PTHREAD_PRIO_INHERIT=no for autoconf cache.

All Upstream-Status fields need review[1].

The headset workaround seem to stop saving the volume setting for
user, does not? For a multimedia processor this seems like a Bad Thing
...
