I think we need to do it in two steps:

 - one in daisy

   This will cope with the bugfixes and updates after the 1.6 tag.

 - update on master

   Merged Daisy and do the update regarding 1.7 related changes (newer
u-boot and kernel for example).

Does it make sense?
