[meta-freescale] CAN0 in 3.10.17 on IMX6QSabreAuto

Hi Lauren,

Thanks, that's very helpful!
For anyone else who runs into this - imx6q-sabreauto-flexcan1.dtb is already included in the uImage by default so all you need to do to enable it is change the u-boot parameter fdt_file to point to that file instead.

I asked the kernel team and this is their response

New kernel does not support the kernel command line like can0 after we switch to use device-tree

Users can use imx6q-sabreauto-flexcan1.dtb to enable flexcan1.
NOTE: flexcan1 is conflict with fec on pins.

So with imx6q-sabreauto-flexcan1.dtb, the fec will be disabled

Hope this helps.

Lauren

Hi,

I've been looking into using the newer kernel with my development as it seems to have fixed a few issues I'm running into with the older one.

I was trying to enable both CAN channels and passing 'can0' on the kernel command line doesn't seem to do anything any more - has the syntax changed for enabling the second channel or has
that functionality not been added yet?

Thanks!
