Ok, so I can reproduce it, using the following steps:

MACHINE=cfa10036 . ./setup-environment build
bitbake core-image-minimal
rm -rf tmp/
cd ..
mv build/ build1
. ./setup-environment build1/
bitbake core-image-minimal
