Actually the regression is fixed by commit 9ba30f (phy: fix 10/100Mbps
operation on 1Gbps-capable links), which comes prior to 9a5dad2, so
your update fixes wandboard networking issue, which is fine.

You could probably update to fdf86c202 (ddr cfg: DRAM_RESET needs
0x00020030) in order to fix nitroge issue.
