Same here, if we don't use a ktype, vs. say a "devel" feature instead.

With respect to the devel feature, I guess we could have it enabled by
default on the current kernel, and then on an uprev use that as a flag
day to make it not the default.  Not sure what the mandate was that
started this series, but I still think a ktype is a heavy handed
mechanism to deal with config data -- plus once you expand that matrix,
you can't effectively ever shrink it again -- we'll have it for life.
