SUMMARY:yocto training @ emBO++
DESCRIPTION:Join Anna-Lena Marx (inovex) for an exclusive one-day\, hands-on Yocto Project training in Bochum\, Germany. \nThis practical workshop focuses on building scalable and secure embedded Linux systems using the Yocto Project. Participants will work through guided exercises on real hardware\, gaining hands-on experience with typical workflows\, best practices\, and common pitfalls. To ensure intensive learning and personal feedback\, participation is strictly limited. \nThe training takes place on March 18\, 2026\, in the context of the 10th edition of the emBO++ Conference. emBO++ is a well-established\, community-driven event known for its strong technical focus on modern C++ and embedded systems\, with an emphasis on practical\, real-world experience. \nWhat you will learn\nThe training combines theory with hands-on exercises to help participants become confident in building and maintaining their own embedded Linux systems. Core topics include:\n• Introduction to the Yocto Project and OpenEmbedded\n• Requirements and architecture of embedded systems\n• Building Linux images from scratch using BitBake\n• Working with layers\, recipes and distributions\n• Using essential Yocto tools (bitbake-layers\, devtool\, KAS\, WIC)\n• Creating and customizing SDKs and eSDKs\n• Licensing\, SPDX and software compliance\n• Strategies for updates\, CI/CD and lifecycle management \nOptional deep dives include kernel work\, debugging\, performance tuning\, and hardware bring-up.
